He was predeceased by: his parents, James Curtis Shelton and Nellie Prillaman Shelton. He is survived by: his wife Judy Vaughn Shelton; his daughters, Nellie "Shannie" Shelton Jessup of Stuart and Melody Shelton Hutchens (Joey) of Stuart; his grandchildren, James Kary Jessup, Lilly Sofia Jessup, Chessie Shoemaker Turner, Layla Shoemaker, Sadie Shoemaker, Patrick Russell and Joella Hutchens; and his siblings, Sandra Halsey of Martinsville, Mary Penny Mustain of Danville, Bobby Shelton (Dottie) of Tampa, Tommy Shelton (Sharon) of Gloucester and Curtis Shelton (Wanda) of Dry Fork. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
