She was predeceased by: her parents, Emmett Padgett and Cassie Padgett; her husband George William Patterson; her son Jerry Wayne Patterson; her stepmother Beadie Adams Padgett; and her siblings, James Terrell Padgett, Lucy Tuttle, Rachel Vernon, Gladys Creed (Totsie), Alvis Lewis, Lavern Cooke and Edna Fletcher.
She is survived by: her siblings, George Padgett (Georgie) of Patrick Springs, Richard Padgett of Patrick Springs, Mary Ellen Spillman of East Bend, NC and Erma Sides of Elkin, NC.; her children, Phyllis Patterson Nester (James) of Horsepasture, Karen Patterson Mills (Sam) of Stella, Lisa Patterson Hill (Rick) of Vesta, David Patterson (Marie) of Stella and George Julius Patterson of Spencer; her daughter-in-law Phyllis Barbour-Patterson of Patrick Springs; her grandchildren, Derrick Nester (Amy) of Martinsville, Patrick Nester (Amanda) of Stella, Heather Patterson Rorrer (Eric) of Kernersville, NC, Brandi Patterson Willie (Dana) of Staunton, VA, Tara Patterson Shuler (Brian) of Martinsville, Daniel Hill (Samantha) of Stuart and Josh Hill of Mount Airy, NC; Mary Hagwood Penn of Critz. She is also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
