It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clarence Umphlett (Suffolk, Virginia), born in Gates, North Carolina, who passed away on May 9, 2020, at the age of 82, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Shadrach Haskett Umphlett and Nora Lee Robertson Umphlett; and his siblings, Margaret Warren, Elizabeth Smith, Joyce Baines, Eugene, George, Doug and Wallace Umphlett.
He is survived by: his son Shane; his daughter-in-law Heather Wilson; his granddaughters, Hunter and Brooke Wilson; and his sisters-in-law, Ruth and Emily Umphlett. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.
