She was predeceased by : her parents, Robert Lee Woodruff, Sr. and Daisy Joyner Woodruff; her former husband Edward "Ed" Valentine; her husband William "Chic" Walker, Sr.; her siblings, Robert Lee Woodruff, Jr. and Ruth Elizabeth Woodruff Outlaw; her siblings-in-law, Jean Elizabeth Woodruff and James Edward Outlaw; her grandson Brian Antoine Bess; and her nephews, Reginald L. Woodruff, Sr. and Joe H. Cooper, Jr..

She is survived by : her daughter Gail V.; her son-in-law Alexander "AB" Bess, Jr. of Portsmouth, VA; her grandchildren, Derrick L. Bess (Paula), Kiana D. Bess and Alexander Bess, III; and her great grandchildren, Jacari, Tyler, Jaylen and Jerrick. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Viewing was held on Monday, January 18th 2021 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM and on Tuesday, January 19th 2021 at 11:00 AM. A funeral service was held on Tuesday, January 19th 2021 at 12:00 PM at the East End Baptist Church (1056 Portsmouth Blvd, Suffolk, VA 23434).
