He was predeceased by: his parents, Lillie Emma Bowles Carpenter and Joshua Wilburn Carpenter. He is survived by: his wife Jewel Dean Cave Carpenter; his daughter Ginger; his son-in-law David Brown; his grandchildren, Joshua Nations and Brown; his great grandchild Asher Nations; his siblings, Rachel Howard and Andy; and his sister-in-law Dianne Carpenter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
