He was predeceased by: his parents, Stanley Bud and Ellen Cora Plaster Saunders; and his siblings, Wayne Saunders, Dave Saunders, Faye Shelton, Gwen Price and Sharon Wicks.
He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Dean Saunders; his children, Sarah Saunders of Swords Creek, Virginia, Tina Saunders Casey (Roger) of Swords Creek, Virginia and Jeremy Saunders (Amy) of Swords Creek, Virginia; his grandchildren, Kendra Casey, Cade Saunders, Landon Casey, Lucas Saunders, Julianna Saunders, Corbin Saunders and Noah Saunders; his siblings, Frazier Saunders, Steve Saunders, Debbie Horne and Sandy Osborne; and his father-in-law Worley Dye. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Due to COVID restrictions mandated by the governor, a mask is required.
