It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joe W Shelton of Swords Creek, Virginia, born in Red Ash, Virginia, who passed away on March 4, 2022, at the age of 70, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Fred Thomas and Mattie Cordle Shelton of Virginia; his wife Edna Lovell Shelton; and his siblings, Anna Mae Dye, Doris Mae Proffitt, Shirley Annajean Dye, Melvin Shelton and George "Buck" Shelton.

He is survived by : his son Joe William Shelton, Jr. (Shelly) of Raven, VA; his siblings, Mary Rose of Richlands, VA, Patsy Leveling of Swords Creek, VA and Jeff Shelton of Richlands, VA; his grandchildren, Joe William "Will" Shelton, III, Kendra Flinchum (Eric) and Haley Shelton; and his great grandchildren, London Shea, Maci Shelton and Kaleb Baugh.
