He was predeceased by: his parents, Freddie L. Wheatley, Sr. and Henrietta Charnock Wheatley; his daughter Heather Wheatley Dise; his sister Sandra Wheatley King; his parents-in-law, Docia Pruitt Smarr, Patty Parks and Grover Smarr; and his siblings-in-law, Donna Parks, Grover "Butch" Smarr and Ernest Ed Parks.
He is survived by: his wife Cynthia Smarr Wheatley; his daughter Jenny Dise (Dan); his granddaughter Alyssa McCready (Isaiah); his great grandchildren, Evan and Roman McCready; his grandchildren, Castella "Cassie" Dise and Daniel Dise; and his siblings-in-law, Bryan "Spanky" King, Larry Parks and Lisa Pusey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Swain Memorial Church (16152 Main St, Tangier, VA 23440). A memorial service was held on Tuesday, May 6th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be sent to the Tangier Fire Department.
