With profound sadness, we say goodbye to Oscar Madison Litten Jr. of Timberville, Virginia, whose vibrant spirit touched the lives of many. He was predeceased by: his parents, Oscar Madison and Vera May Lutz Litten, Sr.; his wife Maxine Faye Alder; his daughter Karen Litten Beall; his brother Robert Litten; his stepsons-in-law, Rick Blizzard and John Fox; his grandson Thomas Beall; and his aunts and uncles, Jiggs, Bill, Rita and Ruby.
He is survived by: his children, Brent Litten (Jewel) of Broadway, Duane Litten of Broadway, John Litten (Kristi) of Timberville and Sharon McAvoy (Brian) of Broadway; his stepchildren, Faye Fox of Rockingham, Mary Ann Blizzard of Harrisonburg and Joseph Hedrick (Elisabeth) of Conicville; his grandchildren, Brianna Litten (Kevin Payne), Amanda Harris, Duane Litten, Jr., Kyle Litten, Hunter Litten, Jennifer Litten, Josh Litten, Britney Litten, JJ Litten, Remy Litten, Michael Runion, Richard Runion, Jason Stevens and Peggy Shifflett; his sister Gloria Crawford (Kenneth) of Broadway; his uncle Harry Lutz (Kathy) of Winchester; his sister-in-law Laura Litten of Manassas; and his pets, Bentley, Joleen and Buckley. He is also survived by numerous step grandchildren and step great grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Grandle Funeral Home (148 E Lee St, Broadway, VA 22815). A funeral service was held on Saturday, July 19th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Grandle Funeral Home Chapel (148 E Lee St, Broadway, VA 22815).
