He was predeceased by : his wife Sara Caple; his parents, Joseph Russell and Marie Huhn Russell; and his siblings, J. Elliott and Rose Marie Kamenish.

He is survived by : his son Steven Russell; his granddaughters, Brandi Russell and Dr. Kathryn Russell; and his great grandchild Simone Schouwenaar.
