She was predeceased by: her husband Nathaniel James Hitchler; her father George Smith; her son Jon Hitchler; and her grandson Jacob Johnson. She is survived by: her mother Barbara Clark Smith; her siblings, Julie Smith and Billy Smith; her daughter Heather Hitchler; her daughter-in-law Ginger Hitchler; her grandchildren, Kenlie, Maddie and Natalie; and her close friend Kenneth W. Leggett. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home (245 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669). A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home (245 S Armistead Ave, Hampton, VA 23669). A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, July 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hilton Garden Inn (3315 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA 23451).
In lieu of flowers, donations may also be made in her memory to the American Cancer Society.
