She was predeceased by: her parents, William "Billy" Scarboro and Elizabeth Ann Kitchen Scarboro; and her sister Cynthia Lynn Scarboro. She is survived by: her husband Jesse B. "Jay" Castleberry, II; her children, Angela S. Pond (Michael), Darrell W. Scarboro (Jennifer) and Elizabeth Lynn Gwaltney; her grandchildren, S. Austin Wiggs, Ashlyn W. Zengel, Phillip M. Pond and Autumn N. Wiggs; and her siblings, Linda S. Pond and Robert O. "Bobby" Scarboro (Debbie). She is also survived by her nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins.
If family or friends prefer to make a donation in lieu of flowers, Carolyn was passionate about Children's Hospital of Kings Daughters for the outstanding care her first grandson, Austin, received there.
