It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eddie Gilliam (Waverly, Virginia), born in Sussex, Virginia, who passed away on May 15, 2019, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his son Kenneth O'Neal Gilliam; his brother Willie Thomas Gilliam; and his mother-in-law Edith Dillard. He is survived by: his wife Starr Dillard Gilliam of Waverly, VA; his children, Kim Gilliam (Karen) of South Chesterfield, VA, Willa Michelle Gilliam, Carla Y. Gilliam of Waverly, VA and Terri Ellis Phelphs (Kent) of Petersburg, VA; his daughter-in-law Amanda Gilliam of Waverly, VA; his brothers, Lewis W. Gilliam (Ruth) of Stony Creek, VA and James Gilliam (Dianne) of Waverly, VA; and his aunts, Lelia Jones (Howard) of Yale, VA and Doris Carter of Richmond, VA. He is also survived by five sisters-in-law and six brothers-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and numerous devoted friends.
