He was predeceased by: his parents, Dave Matney and Cora Perkins Matney; his wife Ellen Fay Ratliff Matney; his son Troy Keith Matney (Tammy Mullins Matney); his siblings, Glenn, Emory, Roy, Ritter, Elwood, Ellis, Luther, Gallie Matney, Pearl Matney Sanson and Eva Matney Akers; and his stepbrother Eldon Keen.
He is survived by: his children, Clayton Matney (Peggy) of Poca, WV, Sharon Kelly (Ron) of Whitewood, VA and Marie Collins (Lonnie) of Swartz Creek, MI; and his half-siblings, David Matney (Jessie) of Hillsville, VA and Nell Matney Keen of Wardell, VA. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and seven great-great grandchildren.
