He was predeceased by: his parent Wilbur Haywood; and his brother Ronald Oakes. He is survived by: his parent Clara McMinis Oakes; his wife Nellie Clatterbuck Oakes; his children, Teresa Ann Oakes, Tammy Lynn Oakes, Tina Marie Scully, Troy Lee Oakes, Jr and Melody Dawn Oakes; and his siblings, Betty Radomsky, Jean Witteveen and Kenneth Oakes. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren.
