We are sad to announce that on July 25, 2023 we had to say goodbye to Rebecca A. Manzione of Woodbridge, Virginia, born in Washington, District of Columbia. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by : her father John W. Machonis Sr. of Alexandria. She is survived by : her mother Helen T. Machionis of Raleigh, NC; her brothers, John W. Machonis Jr. of Clearwater, FL and Gerard A. Machonis of Raleigh; her husband John A. Manzione of Woodbridge; her children, Elizabeth A. Bauer of Stephens City, VA and Christopher J. Manzione of Woodbridge; her daughter-in-law Alison M. Manzione; and her grandchildren, Cassie, Lucas, Addison, Joey, Jocelyn and Makayla.
She kept busy during the pandemic hand-crafting over 1000 custom face masks, for family, friends and later providing them in bulk to equip schools, businesses, and a nursing home, always free for the asking.
Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made to one of the two ALS charitable organizations who were instrumental in assisting Beckie with text-to-speech eye gaze technology: The Team Gleason Foundation of New Orleans LA, https://teamgleason.org ; or: Bridging Voice of Brooklyn NY, https://bridgingvoice.org These two organizations helped greatly expand her world and enabled her to remain connected until her last days.
