He was predeceased by : his parents, Robert M. Sedwick Sr. and Melvina Krug Sedwick; his former life partner Lucille Sedwick; his brothers, Robert Sedwick Jr., Lester N. Sedwick, Thomas Sedwick, Aubrey Sedwick and George "Freddie" Sedwick; and also Sharleen Schlaak.

He is survived by : his wife Barbara Riffee Whittington Sedwick; his godchildren, Ashley Litten, Kaylee Estep and Calvin Schlaak; his stepchildren, John Whittington (Amy) of Woodstock and Dawn Gilmore (Rob) of Edinburg; his stepgrandchildren, Derek Gilmore, Abigail Gilmore, Olivia Whittington and Josh Whittington; and his nephew Larry Hull. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Friday, April 12th 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Valley Funeral Service (14116 S Middle Rd, Edinburg, VA 22824). A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the St. Luke Church of the Brethren (3250 Back Rd, Woodstock, VA 22664). A burial was held on Saturday, April 13th 2024 at 1:30 PM at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery (155 E Lee St, New Market, VA 22844).
