With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Irene Kilby Timbers (Culpeper, Virginia), who passed away on June 13, 2025 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, John Henry and Mary Ella Smith Kilby; her husband Bell W. Timbers; her sons, James E. Kilby, Sr. and Melvin Timbers, Sr.; and her siblings, Mildred Timbers, Polly Dennis, Wilson Kilby, Willie Kilby, Charles Kilby and John Kilby.
She is survived by: her daughters, Irene Christine Timbers, Mary Ellen Timbers, Frances Laverne Miller (Steven) and Gail Elizabeth Timbers (Thomas); her daughters-in-law, Florence Kilby and Bridie Timbers; her grandchildren, Cynthia Muhammad (Sherman), Melvin Timbres Jr. and Justin Timbers (Raechel); and her great grandchildren, Shaquinta Hackett, D'Andre Sykes, James Kilby III, Jakwon Kilby, Jamere Kilby and Ciara Kilby. She is also survived by 3 great, great-grandchildren.
Sister Irene served on the Board of the Scrabble School Preservation Foundation.
