He was predeceased by: his brothers-in-law, Chuck Ely and Steve Mathews; his parents, Gladys Jelley Hall (Campbell) and James R. Jelley Sr.; his grandparents, Fred and Alta Jelley; and his stepmother Pamela Jelley (Shea).
He is survived by: his spouse Beverly Jelley (Stevens); his grandchildren, Nicole Sauer (Glen), Katelyn Cushman (Mike Sandquist) and Carson Cushman (Amber O'Brien); his great grandchildren, Jack, James Sauer, Lillian, Evan and Carter Sandquist; his siblings, Joanne Ely of Hoosick Falls, NY, Jamie Jelley (Prudy) of North Pownal, Lyle Jelley (Robin O'Dowd) of Moore, SC, Keith "Skeeter" Jelley (Fran) of Bennington, Gary Jelley of North Pownal, Sharon Nichols (Billy) of Pownal, Pamela Cuddihy (Rick) of Hoosick Falls, NY and Wayne Jelley (Heather O'Dell) of Pittsfield, MA; his stepbrother Derryl Jelley of North Adams, MA.; his stepchildren, Charles Abbott (Billie Clay) of Londonderry and Susan Brown (David) of South Londonderry; his grandchildren, Ryan, Haley, Emily Abbott, Jessica Perkins (William) and Taylor Brown (Josh); his sister-in-law Joyce Mathews; his niece Stephanie Casey; his friend Ed Warner; and also, Wyatt, Maverick Perkins and Kora Jean Abbott.
