He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles E. Bortell and Gabrielle M. Bortell (Boutin); and his sister Pamela Merrow. He is survived by: his siblings, Linda Moxley (John), Marie Ralston (Keith) and Ralph Bortell (Barbara) of Bennington. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
