He was predeceased by: his parents, Virginia Ann Hanker and George P. Hanker; and his brothers, David and Dale Hanker. He is survived by: his wife Stephanie Lyn Hanker; his daughter Maddison Rae Hanker; his sister Donna Ladouceur (Richard Ladouceur); and his sibling's children, Cara Ladouceur and Darren Ladouceur (Kim). He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles.
