He is survived by: his wife Peggy Fairbrother (Provencher); his children, Sandra Hommel, Lisa Groff (James), Tara Fairbrother and Michael Fairbrother (Meagan); his grandchildren, Dr. Richard "RJ" Hommel, Taryn Fairbrother, Madison Groff, Austin Morrow, Lavender and Olive Fairbrother; his great grandchild Chandler Raymond Edward Smith; his brother Keith Fairbrother; and his sister-in-law Dru Dowdy.
