She was predeceased by : her parents, Howard Emerson and Pearl Emerson; her former life partner Frank Warren Johnson; her husband Fredrick Jelley; and her siblings, John Emerson and Joann Emerson Metz.

She is survived by : her children, Michael W. Johnson and Debra L. Johnson; her grandsons, Jessie M. Johnson and Corey S. Johnson; and her siblings, Lynde Emerson, Leo Emerson, Roy Emerson and Janice Emerson Logan.
