He was predeceased by: his parents, George E. Murphy and E. Caroline Murphy (Beattie); his son-in-law Karl Wursthorn; his siblings, Rupert Johnston (Gigi), Mildred Schultz (John), Edith Clifford (Bruce) and Dorothy Edmunds (Norris); and his nephew Roy Morris.
He is survived by: his former wife Esther Cross; his daughter Sandra; his wife Lucy Briggs; his daughters, Vickey Wursthorn (Murphy) of Troy, VT, Valli Smith (Don) of Lyndonville, VT and Sandi Breen (Mark) of St. Johnsbury, VT; his stepdaughter Susan Ranney (Richard) of Kirby, VT.; his grandchildren, Karla Wursthorn, Justin Smith, Alissa Richardson, Clint Fournier, Brandy Alfieri, Troy Ranney and Kimberly Bunnell; and his nieces and nephews, Carol Leavitt (Bill), Shirley Johnston, Stanley and Gary Edmunds. He is also survived by Dad, Grandpa, or Great-grandpa, as he was known to friends.
