It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Stephen A. Smiel (Rutland, Vermont), who passed away on October 17, 2021, at the age of 49, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father John N. Smiel. He is survived by: his mother Dolores Smiel (DeBlois) of Rutland Town; and his siblings, John N. Smiel, Jr. of West Rutland, Susan J. Smiel of Pittsford and Sandra L. Gardyne (David) of Rutland Town. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Special Olympics of Rutland, care of Clifford Funeral Home, 2 Washington Street, Rutland, VT 05701.
