He was predeceased by : his parents, Charles Wilkens and Gertrude Wilkens; and his wife Janice (Goyette). He is survived by : his children, Edward Wilkens (Jill), James Wilkens (Christine) and Mary Wilkens (Ann Sicurello); and his grandchildren, Ira Wilkens (Chauncey), Marissa Strayer-Benton (Jackson), Ben Wilkens (Alex), Lindsay Zeitler (Joe) and Eva Pentenrieder (Brandon). He is also survived by his nine great-grand children.

In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged to the Knights of Columbus, St John Vianney Council 7525 or the Vermont Respite House.
