He was predeceased by: his brothers, Carl W. Smith and Kenneth G. Smith. He is survived by: his parents, Daniel T. Smith and Sylvia Mae Smith (Waterman); his wife Janet; his children, Frederick B. Smith Jr. of Norwich, Laurel Smith-Raymond of Claremont, NH and Beth Begin of Weare, NH; and his siblings, Daniel T. Smith Jr. and Betty L. Langlois of Norwich. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
