He was predeceased by : his mother Helen Negra; and his brothers, Gene VanSevern and Chris Strouse. He is survived by : his brother Bruce; his wife Joanne (Laurie); his children, John (Shauna), Melissa (Joel), Dylan (Erika), Jessica (Alex), Tiffany (Darren), Christina (Johnny), Danielle and Greg (Tracy); his grandchildren, Ivy, Brittany, Allison, Carter, Elizabeth, Katherine, Kaleb, Tyler, Joe, Michael, Allie, Wismann and Elijah; his sister Maggie Johnson; and his pets, Harley and Gizmo.
