He was predeceased by: his parents, Chandler M. Hewitt and Dorothy H. Hewitt (Potter); his son Dennis Hewitt; his brother Frank Hewitt; and his brother-in-law Michael Birajiclian.
He is survived by: his wife Deborah VanAlstyne; his children, Karen Hewitt Osnoe (Lee) and David Hewitt; his grandchildren, Nikki, Hayden, Asher, Joleigh and Avery; and his siblings, Pamela Barrows (Bill), Sandra Birajiclian and Miller Hewitt (Carlene). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
