She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Geert Doesburg and Jantina Doesburg; her husband Herman; her children, Tamara Laninga (Pat Gillham) of Bellingham, Geralyn Cunningham (Michael) of Telkwa, B. C. and Matthew Laninga of Bellingham; and her grandchildren, Josiah, Abigail, Bethany, Aleya, Emma, Nate, Zander Cunningham, Skyer and Jonna Gillham. She was also cherished by her father.
She joined the Whatcom Chorale in 1974 and sang until the Covid-19 Pandemic forced the group to stop in 2020.
