He was predeceased by: his parents, William Levi and Elda Gertrude (Sykes); his siblings, Inalee Nathlich-Kellough, Etta Mae Rice, Edith Brossard-Dixon and George Canaan; and his grandsons, Brian Canaan and Bradley Young.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Elsbree; his children, Bill, Kris Canaan (Hulsebus), Joyce (Canaan), Tom Jones, Karen (Canaan), Dan Young, Jeff and Kenna Canaan (Johnson); and his grandchildren, Ben Canaan, Stephen Canaan, Alissa Stock, Michael Jones, Christopher Jones, Michael Young, Danika Chestnut, Brandan Young, Claire Canaan and Nathan Canaan. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.
