He is survived by: his wife Esther May Gray; and his children, James Brainerd, Joanie Davis (Don Davis) and Sharon Hall. He is also survived by 23 grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, they relocated to Camano Island to live with their daughter Joanie and her husband, Don Davis.
