He was predeceased by : his parents, Benjamin Melby and Katherine "Kate" Melby (Stogren); and his brothers, Robert, James and Harry Melby.

He is survived by : his son-in-law Rich; his wife Bonnie Melby; his daughters, Tina Lindgren (Rich) and Julie Melby; his siblings, Margaret Marinac (Jack) of Westminster, CO and George "Mike" Melby (Vickie); and his grandson Cody Melby (Dusti). He is also survived by three great grandsons, and a number of nieces and nephews.
