He was predeceased by: his daughter Karen Melling Shepardson; and his sister Leona Tracy. He is survived by: his parents, Clifford Melling and Emma Melling (Jensen); his wife Wendy Warnock Melling; his children, Alan Melling, Claudia Chester (Don) and Alice Melling; his stepsons, Darek Mose and Kyle Mose; his grandsons, Carter Mose, Ryder Mose, Sean Melling (Andrea), Alex Johnson (Yan), Travis Johnson-Esparza (Yajaira), Tim Wiess (Sheri), Nick Wiess and Cody Chester; his great grandchildren, Joaquin, Frida, Amelie, Keenan and Logan; and his siblings, Loretta Bragger (Richard), Lorna Wooding (Richard) and Cleo Melling (Rosemary). He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Everett or Providence Hospice and Home Care of Snohomish County.
