He was predeceased by: his parents, Karl Atterberry and Beulah Atterberry. He is survived by: his wife Nancy L. Atterberry; his children, Sheila M. Ryan of Stanwood, Bryon K. Atterberry of Everett, Debbie A. Acosta and Ernest D. Colin; his siblings, Marilyn J. Sandvik of Oak Harbor and Dan Coleman of Anacortes; and his grandchildren, Kristina M. Ryan of Englewood, CO, Jake T. Ryan of Stanwood, Devon J. Atterberry and Dillon J. Atterberry. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews and a large extended family of cousins.
