He was predeceased by: his parents, Herb Elkington and Dorothy Elkington. He is survived by: his wife Julie; his daughters, Lisa Elkington and Leah Meigs (John); his sisters, Carol Legg and Joyce Walters; his brother-in-law Mike Floyd; his uncle Gene Coumbe; and also, Christine Haas (John) and Marcie Jenson. He is also survived by nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
