He is survived by: his wife Betty; his children, JoLynn Garrett, Joseph Wenzel, Jr., Rebecca Dougherty and Mariele Wenzel; his grandchildren, Dawson, Eathan, Zachary and Joshua Garrett; his stepgrandchildren, Marlena, Thomas, Drew and Rose Dougherty; and his brothers, Don, Ken, Gary, Larry and Terry.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Seattle Children's Hospital or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
