He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, David Dewey and Jane Auer, Sr. (Mulligan); his grandson Jacob; his pet Marley; and his children, David Auer of Elma, Janie Robecker of Alaska and Courtney Norwil (Nick) of Belfair. He was also cherished by 6 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Dave was a member of the Eagles, Elks, the Aberdeen 40 et 8, Aberdeen VFW Post 224, the Poggie Club and the Rocky Mt. Elks Foundation.
