She was predeceased by: her husband Rev. Robert Epperson Hughes; her brother Lloyd Keith "Buck" Swaringen; and her parents, Paris Stanford Swaringen and Kate Forrest Swaringen. She is survived by: her daughters, Dorothy Forrest Hughes (Robert Ira Efird), Cynthia Lee Hughes (Daniel Wade Piraino), Elizabeth Hughes and Virginia Hughes Gray (Donald Gray); her grandchildren, Charles Hughes Efird (Lauren McGehee Efird), Robert Forrest Efird, Dorothy Efird Stabler (William Stabler), Alyssa Kate Piraino, Cara Amelia Piraino, Lilith Hughes Gray, Allison Hughes Gray and Zachary Hughes Gray; and her great grandchildren, Alexander Charles Efird and Stella Marie Efird. She is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
