We are sad to announce that on August 17, 2021 we had to say goodbye to Gary Neil Schafer (Latah, Washington), born in Spokane, Washington. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Leslie Schafer and Anna Schafer; his sons, Kyle (Carolyn), Kevin and Craig (Bethany); and his wife Lynn. He was also cherished by 9 grandchildren.

He continued to do that until a reaction to the Covid vaccine caused him to lose all function of his legs and he had to be moved to Palouse Country Assisted Living where he resided until the advancing syndrome affected his lungs, causing transport to Sacred Heart Hospital where he passed into the loving arms of his Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, at 8 p. m. on August 17.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to either Latah Country Bible Church, Box 79, Latah, WA 99018, or to Palouse Country Assisted Living, 503 S Hilltop Ln, Fairfield, WA 99012.
