We are sad to announce that on April 28, 2023, at the age of 85, Betty Ann Mellema (Lynden, Washington), born in Sheldon, Iowa passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her parents, Ann [Pankonen] and Jake Van Kommer; her husband Jack; her brother David; and her daughter Esther.
She is survived by : her children, Karen (John Steensma), Lisa (Mark Groeneweg), Beverly (John Vree), Jeff (Karen Schulz), Bernie and Brian (Kim Harrison); her grandchildren, Jason (Danielle), Matt, Megan (Averil), Kate (Brad), Ben, Ellie (Jordan), Zach, Michael, Collin, Eric, Larissa and Kestin; her great grandchildren, Isaak, Faith, Eliza, Logan and Ryder; her brother Mark VanKommer (Ruth); and her siblings-in-law, Ruth Bode (Ron), Dirk and Wilbur Mellema. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
