He is also survived by 12 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

“I worked for Mike for almost 25 years. I always looked forward to going to work and spending time changing irrigation, cutting and baling hay, driving truck and combine, or simply enjoying a beef tongue sandwich on a bird hunting trip. The Nilles family was like a second family. The years I spent working with Mike, Shorty, and Todd are some of the fondest memories I of my vacation time over the summer. He will be truly missed by me and all that knew him. Thank you for touching my life.”
