She was predeceased by: her parents, Ursla Powers and Karl Powers; and her siblings, Donna Powers and Karl Joseph Powers. She is survived by: her husband Bruce Mercer; her son Justin; her granddaughter Lauren; her son Trevin; her daughter-in-law Jaime; her grandchildren, Jackson and McKenna; her brother John; her sister-in-law Debbie; her brother Edward; her sister-in-law Donna; her sister Patti; her brother-in-law Steve; her siblings, Stephen and Karla; and her brother-in-law Bill. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Kathy purchased hundreds and hundreds of new toys throughout every year to donate to children in need at Christmas. She and Bruce volunteered countless hours delivering food, preparing sandwiches and picking up donations for the Orting and All Saints Catholic Church food banks.
