Margaret Mayer Coombs Obituary

We are sad to announce that on March 7, 2021, at the age of 79, Margaret Mayer Coombs (Redmond, Washington), born in Evanston, Illinois passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Gottfried O. Mayer and Ruth M. Mayer; and her brother Roger G. Mayer. She is survived by: her husband Edward A. Coombs; her children, Michael Coombs (Silke), Margaret Hughes (John) and Laura Green; and her siblings, Josie Mautz (Biff), Phillip Mayer and Louise (James). She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, friends.

Due to the Covid virus, a service will be held in May at the Tahoma National Cemetery (military).

In lieu of flowers, Margi supported Children's Hospital, Cardiac Unit, Seattle, and The Disabled Veterans.

“I met Margeret when I stayed with The Coombs Family playing Baseball in the Mid 80’s. I became friends with the whole family and visited them during my High school Years. I was in Pory Angeles at the time. She and Ed always made me feel like family. Incredible and giving woman Margeret was. I used to call to talk to Mile and end up talking to her for hours. This was obviously before cell phones. I am deeply saddened to see the passing. Patrick Sukert P.S. Mike give me a call 206-331-8387.”
