It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Florence Berneking of Sequim, Washington, who passed away on July 21, 2021, at the age of 99, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her husband Carleton Berneking; her daughter Kay Calvery; and her siblings, Velma, Francis (Lucille), Ralph (Betty), Maurice (Peggy) and Vernon (Vera).

She is survived by : her children, Gertrude Origer (Hansen), Rex (Penny) and Ruth Mareda (John); her son-in-law Fulton Calvery; her grandchildren, Daniel (Corrie), Rebecca, Mark (Holly), James (Sharon), Mary, Elizabeth (Nathan), Steven (Jessica), Samuel (Christa), Chaney (Chris) and Melanie (Carter); and her great grandchildren, Luke, Ruth, Hannah, Peter, Caleb, Zadok, Lydia, Adam, Brynlee, Lilliana, Bailey and Rylan.

In light of Florence's enduring gratitude for all veterans, we ask that memorial contributions be sent to the Captain Joseph House Foundation, 1108 South Oak St., Port Angeles, WA 98362.
