He was predeceased by : his parents, George Calvin Nichols Sr. and Kathleen Elizabeth Nichols (Kilmer); and his brother James. He is survived by : his wife Carol Joy (Waterman); his children, Annette Julia of Spokane, George Calvin III (Megan) of Arlington, WA and Scott Bryan (Amy) of Spokane; his grandchildren, Ellie, Ben, Clara, Sophie, Tori, Davin, Penelope and Emmett; his siblings, Joseph, Fritz of Spokane and Jane Agren (Nichols) of Roy; and also Paul Waterman of Duluth. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Parkinson's Foundation (Parkinson.org) in honor of George.

“My heart feels empty as a constant In my life since birth is no longer with us. I grew up with the Nichols as my parents were best friends with George & Carol since the 1960’s. Although I’m not officially a god child of Carol and George, I’ve always felt that way. Our families were one, and now only one remains. I will never forget George & I have so many fond memories with him that will never fade. My heart belongs to Carol, Annie, Calvin & Scotty during this time 🙏🏼”
