She was loved and cherished by many people including : her husband Kermit Kompelien; her parents, Marie Nyland and Torkel Nyland; and her children, Mona Crossland (Glenn) of Arlington, Sonja Clarke of Mt. Vernon, Lynette Hjort (Dave) of Lake Stevens and Mikey Kompelien of Marysville. She was also cherished by grandchildren and 4 beloved great grandchildren.

She was born November 18th, 1922, in Fargo ND to Marie and Torkel Nyland and in November of 2020 celebrated her 98th birthday and recovery from Covid within the same week.

Instead of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Josephine Caring Community.
