She was predeceased by: her parents, Alford Young, Sr. and Naomi Gray Young; her son Gene Clay; and her siblings, Mary Hider, Dorothy Ross, Alford Young, Jr., Raymond Young and James Young.
She is survived by: her children, Earl Simmons of Houston, Texas, Sandra Jackson of Vancouver, Washington and Cheryl Whitney (Larry) of Vancouver, Washington; and her grandchildren, Sasha Pritchett of Acworth, Georgia, Sonya of Houston, Texas, William "Earl" Simmons, Jr. (Kim) of Houston, Michael (Kim) of Houston and Matthew Clay of Gresham, Oregon. She is also survived by 11 great-grandchildren; and many devoted nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
