She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Stephen Mertens and Elizabeth Mertens; her husband Max W. Jenkins; her daughters, Karen VanDusen (Gary) of Whidbey Island and Deborah Sapp (Larry) of Walla Walla; her granddaughters, Heather VanDusen, Kendra VanDusen Polston and Jennifer Mele; her great grandchild Kollin Polston; her sister Vivian Sandell; and her stepson Richard Jenkins. She was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
A member of the "Greatest Generation," she came into the world during a pandemic and left during another.
