He was predeceased by: his parents, Helen Mattakat (Gibeau) and Victor Mattakat; his sisters, Jean and Shirley; and his nephew Tommy.
He is survived by: his wife Jean of Amery, WI; his sons, Kevin Mattakat (Amy) of Stillwater, MN and Jason Mattakat (Cate) of East Bethel, MN; his stepdaughter Renee Kendall of La Crosse, WI; his brother Thomas Mattakat (Gloria) of Duluth, MN; his sibling's children, Lisa, Sari, Lissa, Glenn and Dan; his grandchildren, Jacob, Ella, Olivia and Kieran "Buckshot" Mattakat; and his pet Izzi.
